FLORIS VAN SCHOOTEN
c. 1590 - 1656
Dutch
A Still Life with Copper Candlesticks, a Candle Snuffer, Pots and Pans on a Stone Ledge

Oil on Panel 20 1/2 x 29 1/2 inches (51.7 x 74.5 cms) Monogrammed: 'FVS'
NOTE:
It is likely that van Schooten owned the items in this still life as he painted a number of pictures of the same copper objects in various arrangements. These same items also appear individually in the pronck still lives for which he is better known. A similar example of our type of still life was with Brod in 1963.
