Essay:
The Monogrammist PHB is an interesting artist working closely in the circle of Jan van Goyen and Pieter de Molijn, both artists belonging to the Haarlem School of painting. The subjects of his works are usually river and estuary scenes depicting everyday life along the waterways of Holland.
