J. Weatherby, whose full identity is unknown, appears to have been a British game still life painter working during the 1820s and 30s. He exhibited 'Partridges' at the Royal Academy in 1823 and 'Dead Pheasants' in 1825. He is noted in the Royal Academy's catalogues from these years as being an Honorary member and is afforded the suffix Esq. in the 1823 catalogue. This likely indicates that J. Weatherby was an artist of relatively high social status.
