Little seems to be known about the early life of this very talented painter of animals, especially birds, working in the last quarter of the 18th Century. He exhibited at the Society of Artists in the years 1776-1778 and at the Free Society in 1780. In 1783 he was to exhibit a picture at the Royal Academy. His attention to detail was finely observed especially when it came to depicting feathers and down. His pictures are quite rare
